Inchcape GWM Indonesia delivers an exhilarating exploration experience through the Media Drive event for the GWM SUV Tank 300 Diesel Turbo, themed “Step Into the Realm of the Explorer with The All-Terrain Conqueror.” Held at the Badeur Lake area in Cisadon, Bogor, this event provided participants with the opportunity to experience firsthand the true character of GWM’s premium diesel SUV, designed to conquer diverse terrains without compromising comfort and modern lifestyle. More than just a test drive, this activity represents GWM’s spirit of exploration by offering the perspective of a true off-roader.

During the event, media representatives had the chance to experience the authentic performance of the SUV Tank 300 Diesel Turbo alongside Julian Johan (Jejelogy) and the Jejelogy 4x4 School team. Widely recognized as an influential figure in Indonesia’s automotive and professional off-road community, Julian Johan is also the founder of Jejelogy 4x4 School, a community platform committed to educating and inspiring off-road enthusiasts in safe and responsible extreme driving techniques. This collaboration served as direct validation from off-road experts of the SUV Tank 300 Diesel Turbo’s performance and capability in real-world conditions.
In his opening remarks, Bagus Susanto, CEO of Inchcape GWM Indonesia, stated:
“Following its launch, this event marks a true moment of proof by involving automotive experts and enthusiasts. It also reinforces GWM’s global vision: All Scenarios, All Powertrains, All Users, which reflects the SUV Tank 300 Diesel Turbo’s adaptability in various conditions. It excels not only on urban roads but also on challenging tracks like the route to Badeur Lake, which combines rocky terrain, muddy paths, and steep inclines. This SUV also offers comfort and modern features relevant for today’s urban adventurers.”

Igniting Adventure Beyond Urban Roads
The journey began at the GWM Tank Studio in Jakarta, where participants gathered for a welcome session and briefing on the route and the key strengths of the SUV Tank 300 Diesel Turbo to be tested. This session was led by Julian Johan and the professional team from Jejelogy 4x4 School, who provided technical guidance and driving tips to ensure participants enjoyed an optimal and safe exploration experience. After the briefing, the convoy set off toward Bogor.
On the on-road segment, participants immediately felt the power of the 2.4L Diesel Turbo engine, delivering instant thrust with every press of the accelerator. The 9-speed automatic transmission (9AT) ensured smooth yet precise power distribution. They also experienced how the Tank 300 Diesel’s suspension and chassis settings provided high stability on highways while maintaining a soft cushion over uneven roads. Meanwhile, the advanced engine cooling system with a double water jacket and an 850W fan kept performance stable even during prolonged high-speed driving—proving that the SUV Tank 300 Diesel Turbo’s toughness begins on city streets before tackling extreme terrain.

Testing True Toughness on Cisadon Trails
The route to Cisadon became the ultimate proving ground for the SUV Tank 300 Diesel Turbo. Natural tracks combining rocky surfaces, steep climbs, and sharp descents demanded full resilience from the vehicle. Here, the 2.4L Diesel Turbo engine with 184 PS and 480 Nm of torque showcased its superiority, delivering instant power response from as low as 1,500 rpm.
The Part-Time 4WD system with selectable 2H, 4H, and 4L modes, along with nine total driving modes, ensured optimal performance in every scenario. On slippery or rocky paths, the Rear Axle Differential Lock maintained maximum traction, while Crawl Mode regulated constant speed without throttle or brake input for stability in extreme conditions. Even its towing capability of up to 3 tons—tested to pull loads up to 17.5 tons—proved the exceptional strength of its chassis and drivetrain.
Drivers also tested drive modes suited to conditions: 4H for dirt and gravel tracks, and 4L for extreme terrain requiring maximum torque. The longitudinal 9AT transmission further demonstrated its benefits on difficult trails, with smooth gear shifts and minimal lag, ensuring seamless power delivery without jolts—maintaining comfort and control on rocky paths.
On narrow tracks with limited maneuvering space, the Tank Turn feature stole the spotlight. This technology allowed the vehicle to rotate with an extremely small turning radius, making it easier to navigate routes filled with large rocks and dense vegetation. Additionally, Rock Mode, Mountain Mode, and Pothole Mode reinforced the SUV Tank 300 Diesel Turbo’s adaptive capabilities in tackling diverse terrain—from rocky trails to uneven surfaces.
“As someone passionate about off-roading and deeply involved in the scene, I see the Tank 300 Diesel Turbo as an SUV that successfully balances strength and intelligence. Its power feels instant, its drivetrain precise, and its cabin comfort is excellent for Indonesia’s varied road conditions. In my view, this vehicle is truly designed for off-road enthusiasts in the country—tough, comfortable, and providing a sense of security on every track,” said Julian Johan, widely known as Jejelogy.
Beyond its toughness, the SUV Tank 300 Diesel Turbo maintains a luxurious impression with Nappa leather upholstery and double-layer laminated soundproof glass. Throughout the journey, the NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) system kept the cabin quiet and comfortable, with idle noise levels at just 41 dB—comparable to a gasoline engine. Dual 12.3-inch screens provided real-time driving data.
For safety, the SUV Tank 300 Diesel Turbo is equipped with Level 2 ADAS featuring 20 active functions that assist drivers in all situations. Technologies such as Front Collision Warning (FCW), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), and Traffic Jam Assist (TJA) offer intelligent support to keep drivers focused and safe across various road conditions. The SUV Tank 300 Diesel Turbo has also earned a 5-star ANCAP safety rating, reinforced by an ultra-high-strength steel body structure (1,500 MPa), six airbags throughout the cabin, and a robust suspension system that absorbs heavy impacts while maintaining stability.
